August 2003 - Kailey came home from the hospital 8/14/03, and she went to her big sister's school orientation the next day!  Then after a weight check at the doctor's office, Kailey stayed home for most of this month.  She, mommy, daddy, and Kara spent this time getting used to the new routine.  Kailey is eating & sleeping most of August!

September 2003 - Kailey is one month old!  She is nursing & taking the bottle because it's been hard for her to gain weight.  She is getting bigger, though  She's up from 6 lbs 6 oz at birth to 8 lbs by the end of this month.  A big growing girl!  Kailey's first professional portraits were taken this month.  The whole family posed for our first family portrait post-Kailey!

           October 2003 - Kailey weighs 9 lbs 9 oz at her 2 month checkup.  She is growing so fast!  She gained 2 lbs 9 oz

in one month!  She is nursing most of the time, with an occasional bottle.  Kailey loves for Mommy & Daddy to walk her around doing the "jiggle".  She loves to face forward and see what's in front of her.  She still sleeps a lot during the day, and with Mommy at night.  Kailey was a giraffe for her first Halloween.  Kara wore a cute poodle skirt costume.  They had fun at the church party.

November 2003 - This month Kailey begins to "fill-in" and take her baby shape.  She finds her feet & loves to lay on her back & play with them.  She smiles a lot at her big sister.  In the pictures above, Kailey is all dressed up to attend a welcome home party for cousin Bobby at Aunt Theresa's house.

December 2003 - Kailey is 4 months old!  This is a busy month for our family.  Kailey is moving out of the newborn stage and interacts more with Kara.  At her 4 month checkup on 12/15/03, Kailey weighs 11 lbs 10 oz.  She is 24.25 inches long.  What a growing girl!  We went to take our professional family Christmas portrait, but Kailey did not cooperate.  So, Aunt Lisa took our picture outside, which became our 2003 Christmas card.  The girls visited Santa at Northwoods Mall.  Kailey didn't even cry!  We purchased baby's first Christmas ornaments, as well as Kara's fifth Christmas ornament.

Kailey's first Christmas was great.  We visited Gramps & Gramie, Oma & Opa, Mammy, Great-Grandmamma, Nana & Granddaddy, Memaw & Papa, Aunt Wanda & Uncle Bob, and all of our large extended family.  Whew, it was a tiring week.  On Christmas morning, the girls woke up to a living room full of toys!  Santa brought Kailey an exersaucer, a blanket, and lots of toys and stocking stuffers.  Kara made out as well.  They both wore their Christmas outfits.  It was fun!
